Porto Heli, Peloponnese

Located on the eastern side of Peloponnese, Porto Heli is a small seaside town with a large port. This port is a frequent mooring place for fishing boats and yachts in summer, giving to Porto Heli in Greece a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

There are a couple of organized beaches in Porto Heli, but the majority are small secluded coves with a relaxing atmosphere. A frequent family destination, this region gets frequented by Athenians who have holiday homes there in summer.

The location is convenient for road trips to Ancient Epidaurus, Poros, Ermioni, Mycenae, and Nafplion. From the small port of Costa close to Porto Heli, there are very frequent boats to Spetses island.

Spetses island Greece, and especially its picturesque main town, stands out for its architecture and elegance.In Spetses Town you won’t find any cars, as they are banned, so you can wander undisturbed and explore the picturesque town at your own pace. Around Dapia, the main Spetses port, there is a selection of cafes and bars, ideal for a romantic sunset drink. In Dapia, you’ll also find, among others, the Spetses Museum and Anargyros mansion, two of the best places to visit in Spetses Greece. Strolling around Spetses Town, you’ll find even more places for sightseeing!

Spetses beaches are a reason unto themselves to visit Spetses island Greece! Vrellos, Agia Marina and Agia Paraskevi are the best beaches in Spetses. These beaches, though, are quite far from Spetses Town, so your best bet is to hire a car or take a bus to them.

VISIT THE ANCIENT THEATRE OF EPIDAURUS

The ancient theatre of Epidaurus is hardly 45 minutes from Porto Heli and due to the summer Festival, a lot of visitors combine their holidays with a night performance.

By Car or Bus from Athens:

To reach the picturesque Porto Heli, choose Attiki Odos or the National Road from Athens to Corinth. After about an hour on the National Road and immediately after passing the Isthmus of Corinth, follow the first exit on the right for Epidauros and below the bridge, turn left towards Epidaurus, Spetses, Kranidi and Porto Heli. Passing the city of Kranidi peripherally and reaching the central roundabout of Porto Heli, turn left and follow the coastal road in the direction of Costa.
